After fighting the entity, he meets art dealer Sarah Flores," making their way to the basement parking garage where they meet Theophile Paddington, the occultist who performed Edward Carnby 's exorcism andold apprentice and friend . Theo explainsthe philosopher's nature and Crowley's desire to unleash his evil power. They hijack a car and drive to New York City, finding it in the same ruined state as the building; supernatural cracks emanating from the ground. It crashes into Central Park and Theo givesEdward a rock, telling him to find him in a room in a museum before committing suicide. On the way to the museum, Edward begins to bleed from his injuries. Making his way through the devastation, Edward learns his surname from Crowley. Later, his past medical records from an attending physician reveal that he is over 100 years old, having disappeared in 1938. Room 943 of the museum is then found. Metropolitan Museum of Art, where Theo's ghost explains more of the Stone's history. He delves into the depths of Belvedere Castle, solving several mysteries that follow the path of light.Upon reaching a hidden room in the underground temple, Hermes Treismajice met Edward , one of the alchemists who built Central Park.and the bearer of the other half of the stone, making him virtually immortal while he waited for the bearer (Edward) to release him. While returning Hermes Treismajice to the museum, Sarah Flores kidnapped Crowley and held her hostage . In a final confrontation, Edward finally killed the mad occultist by quickly shooting him in the head while he struggled with Sarah Flores. Hermes Treismajice then led them into the innermost chamber.
Within the chamber, they found a large portal between the living world and the afterlife; a portal for Lucifer's return to the flesh. Needing both halves of the stone to unlock it, Hermes and Edward combined them on a pedestal only for a bright light to begin restoring Carnby. Sarah Flores, unwilling to allow Edward to sacrifice himself, takes the stone from him, allowing Lucifer to begin possessing her instead. The player is given a choice: kill her and take the Shining Light into their body, or let her live and allow the demon to use her as his slave. If they choose the former, they become completely possessed by Lucifer and declare their intention to dominate humanity. If they choose the latter, Sarah Flores becomes possessed and the demon mocks Edward for being so lonely; to which he replies, "I'm used to it" before walking away in defeat.
