Aztec Myth
The Aztecs had a myth about the creation of heaven and earth.
The human world lasted for 4,000 years and then perished.
The first. Tezcatlipoca
In the beginning, people lived. They ate corn and grew into giants.
However, no matter how tall they were, they could not survive the flood, as their heads filled with water.
The world, which lasted for 4,008 years, ended when the waters swallowed the sun in the sky.
The second. Quetzalcoatl
When 4,010 years had passed, this time a strong wind blew, blowing away both people and the sun.
The wind was so strong that people were stuck in trees by their hands and feet.
The third. Tlaque
After 4,081 years, this time a huge fire threatened the earth.
The world was destroyed again.
Fourth. Chalchiutlic
also struck the people of the Fourth World with a rain of blood and fire. Nothing grew on the land, and people starved to death.
Fifth. Tonatiuh
The Fifth World opened in Teotihuacan in the Aztec civilization.
However, darkness was everywhere.
There was only one way to bring the sun back: some gods burned their bodies.
Nanahuatzin jumped into the fire and became the sun.
Tecocitzicul, seeing this, jumped into the fire and became the moon.Minimum
