The Kingdom of Altago is rebuilding its kingdom around a newfound peace after years of war against the ruthless armies of Romon. The classic adventuring duo, Adol and Dogi, arrive at the port city of Altago and soon find themselves in an altercation with the Dragon Knights, the kingdom's military police force, when they attempt to rescue a local girl from harassment by one of their commanding officers. Upset by the interruption and subsequent humiliation, the commander arrests Adol and Dogi, accusing them of espionage. The King of Altago, informed of the duo's impending arrival by a trusted old friend, quickly releases the duo from prison and summons them to his chambers. The King tells the men about an ancient shrine discovered after a recent earthquake and requests their help in investigating this mysterious new discovery. Adol and Dogi agree, unaware that they are about to take the first steps on a long journey to save Altago from long-forgotten ancient powers and to reunite the five separated tribes who serve and protect the Five Great Dragons, sacred beings who may be the world's last hope. Ys Seven is the latest installment in the long-running Ys series, which first appeared on PC in 1987. This is the first version built specifically for the PSP, taking full advantage of the widescreen format and hardware. The battle system consists of a three-person fighting party with enemies interacting on the field map in real time for fast-paced combat. Longtime fans of the series and new players alike will be immersed in a rich, vibrant world containing over 30 hours of gameplay.
