X²: The Threat is a new generation of space simulation games. You play as Julian Gardena, continuing the story established by X: Beyond The Frontier. The updated graphics engine gives the universe a fresher feel, with newly designed ships and stations adding to the complexity of the universe.

Exploration: Explore over 130 beautifully designed sectors occupied by clouds that affect your ships and stations, and asteroids from which you can extract materials that you can later sell for profit.
New Ships: Explore over 60 ships of varying sizes, from scout-class vessels to large carrier-class warships.
New Upgrades: Upgrade your ships' systems with many other upgrades, and download new upgrades that take advantage of the new scripting engine designed specifically for X².
New Weapons: Add new weapons to your ship, including an ion jammer and a mass engine, but also build factories that will develop these weapons and sell them for profit, expanding your own empire in the universe.
New Missions: Participate in missions presented to you on each station's bulletin board, earning money by defending convoys and destroying incoming Xenon fleets intent on destroying everything in their path.
But above all, help defend the universe from the Kahak, before they kill everyone and everything they encounter.
