Guide your band of adventurers through the ruins of an ancient world. Recruit new followers, plunder the corpses of your fallen enemies, and do your best to survive in this harsh and unforgiving world.
The game world is a place of toil, suffering, and darkness. There are no fairies, dwarves, dragons, or other classic fantasy creatures. There are some light magical elements, but no wielding wizards either. Many centuries ago, giants roamed the world, living peacefully alongside humans until a war between the two species led to the giants' extinction. Several years ago, a group of scientists discovered a process for extracting the life essence from the bones of ancient giants.
This magical fluid promised to cure many different ailments, repair serious wounds, and possibly even halt the aging process. Unfortunately, instead of improving the subject's health, the serum often had the opposite effect, causing a mutation or a fatal illness. Until he can determine the exact nature of this wonder drug, experiments continue on unwilling subjects.
The story begins when the main character, Urtuk, escapes from the Sanatorium, a facility where these experiments are performed on ordinary citizens who have been kidnapped. Urtuk has undergone a severe transformation due to his exposure to the life essence, and with each passing day his health deteriorates. Now he wanders the world in search of a cure. Unless he can find a way to counter his evolving transformation, Urtuk must eventually die.Minimum
