Description: A first-person shooter. The game is a continuation of the Unreal series, which began with the game of the same name from Epic Games, released in 1998. Unreal Tournament focused on multiplayer battles and was a successful attempt to bring Unreal's imperfect multiplayer to perfection. The game was positioned as a direct competitor to id Software's Quake III Arena, which was released 10 days later. Despite the big name and established army of fans that Quake III Arena possessed, Unreal Tournament was able to compete on equal footing. This was largely due to excellent graphics, dynamic gameplay, a large number of game modes, and the cleverness of its computer opponents.
