Trash Panic takes the puzzle game genre a step further. It's the latest downloadable exclusive for the PS3, requiring players to compact as much trash as possible into a trash can before it overflows, and in the most environmentally friendly way possible. During each level, random trash items will be delivered via a crane to players, who can then control the speed and direction of their fall using the DualShock 3 controller. The trash can will quickly reach its full capacity unless the trash is disassembled or dealt with through the strategic use of various items given during each level. Items will continue to fall until the player compacts a certain number of items or ends up with an overflowing trash can. Each level will also feature a giant boss item that players need to destroy within a set time limit to avoid penalty. At the end of each level, each player will be rated based on how environmentally or self-friendly the level was. The more environmentally friendly the player, the higher the rating. Ratings help unlock different levels and modes. Trash Panic is spread across three different modes, offering fun for everyone. The main mode will take players through six stages that gradually increase in difficulty as they progress. The Vs. mode allows two players to compete against each other on the same screen. Finally, the Mission mode offers mini-games for those who want to increase their enjoyment with a variety of waste management tasks. Trash Panic also offers ways for players to show off their skills with support for prizes and online leaderboards. Additionally, players will have the option to record and upload up to 10 minutes of gameplay to YouTube to share with the rest of the world!
