Lara Croft is back in her greatest adventure yet! The Dagger of Xian is believed to hold incredible powers according to Chinese religion. Whoever picks up the dagger and plunges it into their heart will assume the powers of a legendary dragon. Players assume the role of Lara and must track the dagger before it falls into the wrong hands. Unfortunately, the wrong hands are after the relic; two groups of cultists are eager for the dagger's power. Developed by Core Designs and published by Eidos, Tomb Raider II Starring Lara Croft is the sequel to the hit game Tomb Raider. As Lara, players will roam through 18 massive levels set across the globe. The journey will take them to the Great Wall of China, the streets of Spain, various shipwrecks, oil rigs, and the icy climate of Tibet. Like the original, each level is represented by a combination of puzzle-solving and exploration elements. Puzzles come in the form of pushing blocks into locked locations, turning switches, and uncovering the path to the next level. You'll need a keen sense of observation as useful items are scattered throughout the level. These items include health and ammo restorers, keys, levers, and additional relic items. Lara will also make use of her acrobatic and weapon skills. Among her new skills is the ability to wade through shallow waters and climb walls via ladders and ropes. The levels are filled with a host of new enemies, including dangerous sharks, electric eels, bats, tigers, and unflinchingly shooting humans. Fortunately, the adventurer is ready for battle; she will use her patented dual pistols, an Uzi, an underwater harpoon, shotguns, and an M-16 assault rifle. Tomb Raider II Starring Lara Croft also features an all-new lighting effects engine with flickering flames and light signatures.
