Something is prowling its snow-covered paths, lurking behind the black trees and taking everything it deems due.
It leaves behind strange rumors of voices, calling you into the woods, of faces, peering into your windows, of mysterious footprints in the snow and... a collection of "lost children" posters.
Those who have heard the voice of the forest cannot be helped. Their only option is to sink deeper and deeper into the cold embrace of horror to face their ultimate choice in that icy darkness: to survive or to remain human?
The story takes place in a quiet, unremarkable village lost among the Siberian forests. The protagonist, Anton, has recently moved there with his family and is almost immediately embroiled in a series of disturbing events.
It is the place where children disappear. The police are powerless; search teams comb the forest, but they find no traces. Why, then, does Anton so frequently encounter traces, bloodstains, and scraps of clothing? It almost feels like someone is putting on a show for him.
He is initially haunted by nightmares, which become more terrifying and bloodier each night. They also become more realistic... and alluring.
