Information
"The Land of Crows" is a side-scrolling Gothic story adventure game (
not
a point-and-click game), inspired by the literary works of the masters of Pre-Romantic, Romantic, and Gothic literature (E. A. Poe, G. W. Goethe, A. Mickiewicz, J. Slowacki) and Lovecraft's mythology. Jan Bonaventure Jablonowski, a young Polish nobleman, is summoned to Kuyavia at the request of his friend. By the will of a dramatic message, he arrives on a dark, rainy plain filled with crows and ravens. He is about to discover the horrific truth that lies in the watery pastures of partitioned Poland in the 19th century.
This game is not a "talkie" - it has no voiceover (an homage to the classic 80s adventure game).
Key Features:
A classic-style adventure game, inspired by the look, feel, and controls of 90s action adventures (most notably "Shadow of the Comet")
3-4 hours of entertainment, 7000+ lines of text.
Dark characters with their own dark secrets.
Gothic romance that terrifies.
Atmospheric music (by Simon Wilkinson and other composers).
Historical and ethnographic objects and buildings (palaces, palaces, churches) in a greater Kuyavian/Polish style.
References to 19th-century masters of Gothic and Romantic literature.
The look and feel of the cultural era of Romanticism/Mysticism, with a distinct cultural background of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Early regional Slavic myths from Kuyavia, intertwined with an atmosphere of Romanticism.
Haunted forests of the ancients with hidden ancient graves. Minimum
