Description: The Getaway is an open world adventure video game developed by Team Soho and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. "The Getaway" is inspired by British gangster films, most notably Get Carter and Snatch. The game was originally scheduled to be released to coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 2 in 2000, but was delayed for 27 months due to the difficulty of re-creating large areas of London in high resolution. Portions of The Getaway were featured in various episodes of Graham Duff's Ideal.
The game takes place in London over the course of a single day and features two characters: ex-con Mark Hammond and Detective Constable Frank Carter of the Flying Squad.
Mark Hammond, recently released from prison for armed robbery, witnesses the kidnapping of his son Alex and the accidental murder of his wife Susie. Mark pursues his son's kidnappers but is chased down and brought to the attention of Charlie Jolson, who threatens to kill his son and forces him to do his dirty work.
Additional information:
He also caught the first one. The distribution has been updated, replacing the translation with human translation, and the English version with subtitles, instead of pirated voice acting.
Performance tested on Hen 9.00. The game is fully playable, and no bugs or slowdowns were found during the game. The only issue is that brakes occasionally appear during some cutscenes, but this is rare and not particularly annoying.
