Summary: You've just been enjoying a camping holiday with your family when your wife and two young sons disappear. With no way to contact anyone, you head towards the only source of civilization a few miles away—a grand old manor by a lake. You soon find yourself drawn into an even bigger mystery as you desperately try to find your family.
Art Style: The game uses a style that blends realism and surrealism, complementing the atmosphere of the story. The graphics are detailed in low-resolution pixel art using a custom-made color palette.
Gameplay: The Corruption Within is a first-person, first-click, thriller-adventure game set in the Victorian era. There will be plenty of puzzles to solve, secrets to discover, and characters who may either help or lead you astray.
Characters: You'll meet members of the game's aristocracy and servant class, from an old and eccentric lord and lady whose lineage goes back centuries, to kitchen and scullery maids with extremely humble backgrounds, to a servant suffering from grandeur hallucinations, to a nurse suffering a mental breakdown due to the events before your arrival... One thing they all have in common: they all have secrets!
The game is being developed by Cosmic Void (Void Breach, Cyber Seraph) and Dave Seaman (Captain Disaster in: Death Has A Million Stomping Boots, The Rat Pack, The Ancient Art of Staying Alive). An original score for the game was composed by Eric Galluzzo, who has previously composed music for both Captain Disaster games.
The game includes achievements that require wit, cunning, and exploration to find.
The Corruption Within had a successful Kickstarter campaign, with two additional goals met (an extended, narrated prologue/ending, as well as two secret rooms in the mansion). Minimum
