Terra Incognita is a dimension very close to Earth, Level 1.
Therefore, it is not a separate world like in Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings. It
is a version of our world, but with magic, creatures, and magical spirits. This makes this world remain a staple of the fantasy Middle Ages. Please note that this time has survived into our own time, making it still feel like the Middle Ages, but with greater sophistication, for example, with very dense cities and huge castles.
It is possible to travel around the world, across five continents, via transport portals.
In Terra Incognita, dinosaurs are still alive. Magical nature spirits were present when the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs hit Earth. These spirits did not prevent the meteorite from hitting, but they were able to influence certain climatic phenomena, enough to reduce the damage and allow some dinosaurs to survive. Today, they are everywhere on the planet. We don't see them everywhere (we don't find them in most of the game's levels), but they exist, and that's why we built massive barriers around the cities. It's also partly because of the presence of dinosaurs that Terra Incognita remains largely medieval, because with all the dangers present on the planet, humanity had to struggle to evolve.
Indeed, the game is largely set in the Middle Ages. But not only that, it's a bit like our own time, where the level of technology varies depending on where you are.
In Terra Incognita, the general level is medieval, but there are also many places at an ancient level, even less advanced, even prehistoric.
Conversely, some rare places are somewhat more advanced and can range from the Renaissance to the industrial age, or even modern or even somewhat futuristic. That's why there is also the presence of techno-magic (a kind of combination of technology and magic) in some places on the planet.
But from the game:
you have to find three rock crystals in each level, and find the transporter that will lead you to the next goal.
