Sunset is a game that follows Tanuki, an adorable raccoon with a longboard and dreams of appearing on the cover of Sunset Island's first magazine: FISH!
Players must master longboarding to travel from mountain ranges, through the city, and all the way to Sunset Island's beach. Along the way, players will guide Tanuki to perform awesome tricks and jump off cliffs, all while avoiding cars and various obstacles. Collecting Tanuki Pieces along the way is important to exchange for items and equipment at Bob's Skate Shop, where players can customize Tanuki's outfits and skateboard to better suit their personal style.
The game is designed to feel like something from the PS2 era by keeping players in the flow with a simplified control scheme.
In addition to the single-player story mode, the game includes additional game modes such as Endless, Score, and Time Trial. The soundtrack features nostalgic styles, relaxed rhythms, and a retro art style.
