T'ai Fu – Wrath of the Tiger is a PlayStation game
released in 1999. The game is set in an eastern landscape inhabited by animal tribes, such as leopards and snakes. The game's protagonist, T'ai Fu, is the last survivor of the Tiger Tribe and must embark on a journey to defeat the Dragon Lord and avenge his people. Along the way, he learns about his mysterious past and masters several styles of kung fu, one from each tribal master he defeats. T'ai Fu seeks revenge for the destruction of his village at the hands of the Dragon Tribe. He travels across ancient China, seeking masters in the various animal styles of Shaolin kung fu to teach him the skills he needs to defeat the Dragon Tribe. In addition to the various animal styles T'ai learns, masters will teach him how to focus "chi," or internal energy, to produce energy blasts that no enemy can survive. Master the martial arts of humanoid animals in T'ai Fu: Wrath of the Tiger. The game features 3D graphics viewed from a side-view perspective, utilizing a variety of claw-to-claw fighting moves against members of rival animal tribes. The Master Tiger will acquire new fighting techniques by defeating the leaders of each tribe in his quest to take down the fearsome Dragon Lord. In addition to his melee attacks, T'ai Fu can channel his "chi" to perform special moves and find power-ups that make him invisible or temporarily immune to enemies. Collect jade shards to earn extra lives as you battle through the game's 24 levels. Levels are linear but can be replayed at any time through the map menu. The goal of each level is to reach the end where a golden Chinese coin is located. The official soundtrack was composed by Michael Giacchino.
