Summer Pockets takes place on an isolated, rural, and peaceful island in the Seto Island Sea called Torishirojima, which has a population of around 2,000 people. The protagonist is Hayori Takahara, a young man who is not native to the island. Hayori grew up in an urban environment, but after an unpleasant incident, he uses the recent death of his grandmother as an excuse to come to the island to take care of selling her property. Upon arriving there, he meets four girls who are the main protagonists of the story. They are: Shiroha Naruse, who has forgotten her summer vacation; Ao Surakado, who seeks the island's legends; Kamumi Kushima, an upper-class girl searching for a pirate ship; and Tsumugi Winders, a young girl trying to find herself.
