Starshifter
is a game about shapeshifting, desert animals, and finding your place.
You play as Coyote, one of the Guardians tasked with maintaining balance on Earth. Each Guardian is given power by the stars to help them protect Earth from darkness, but Coyote has no powers. One night, a meteor shower causes the stars to fall from the sky, leaving the animals powerless against the spirits of the night who want to reclaim the stars for themselves. Now, Coyote, the only one accustomed to not having powers, takes on the role of Guardian to bring back the stars. Coyote learns to harness their newfound ability to shapeshift and uses it to explore where they couldn't before.
There are four mapped environments, each inhabited by a variety of animals, such as birds, deer, foxes, bison, beavers, and more. You'll be able to talk to the other animals, learn more about them, help them with their tasks, and even interact with them in story scenes. As you collect more stars, your shapeshifting ability will increase, allowing you to reach higher places or fly longer. Will you be able to recover all the stars and earn your right as a Guardian?Minimum
