Humanity has learned that it's not alone in the universe and that we're facing unsurpassable superiority from alien civilizations seeking to destroy us. You've been chosen to command Earth's first interstellar starship to achieve this—try not to crash it. It was expensive.

The game takes place in the year 2088, where humanity has discovered that it's not alone in the universe. Worse, it's completely unprepared to deal with what's out there. In response, Star Control is formed, and the player is chosen to command the crew of the UES Vindicator. Star Control: Origins takes place in a large, living universe just waiting to be explored. Players will spend their time exploring distant solar systems, landing on strange planets, navigating hyperspace, and interacting with alien species.
