You start from humble beginnings in your own starship, carrying out various missions at starbases located across the galactic map. As you complete missions, you earn money, experience points, and equipment to help you recruit new crew members and purchase a larger ship. Continue to cleanse the stars of their inhabiting pests, including zombies and space pirates.
With your success come more challenges. Keeping your crew happy is crucial to your success. You must keep them fed, relaxed, and optimistic, or they will acquire new "quirks" in their personalities. A good commander will see his crew earn "perks"—personal rewards that will help you fight your enemies.
New enemies will arrive to challenge you and your crew, and it will be up to you to create the ultimate ship to defeat them.
