Spider-Man 3 is an action- adventure video game developed by Beenox Inc. and published by Activision. It was released on May 4, 2007 for the PC, on May 4 , 2007 for the PS3 in North America, on May 18, 2007 for Europe, and on September 20, 2007 for Australia. It was released on the PSP on October 16, 2007 for North America, on November 2, 2007 for Europe, and on December 4, 2007. The game takes place a year after the death of Dr. Octopus, with Spider-Man stopping a new gang called the H -Bombers from bombing the Carlyle Building. The next day, Peter Parker explains that the city finally sees Spider-Man as a hero and there hasn't been a major threat recently, though new problems have emerged in the form of Eddie Brock, Peter Parker's rival at Harry Osborn's Daily Bugle, who blames Spider-Man for his father's death, and new gangs terrorizing the city: the H-Bombers, the Apocalypse, the Arsenic Candies, and Dragon Tail. However, these gangs don't prove to be much of a threat, with Spider-Man thwarting their plans on multiple occasions. Meanwhile, an alien inside a meteor crashes into Central Park and attaches itself to the shoe of Peter Parker, who is there with his girlfriend , Mary Jane Watson. Harry Osborn subsequently becomes the new Goblin, out of revenge on Peter Parker, whom he blames for his father's death.


Later, Peter Parker investigates his science teacher, Dr. Curt Connors, who has been reported missing. He discovers that he was experimenting with a Lizard DNA serum in hopes of regrowing his right arm, only to be transformed into a ferocious Lizard. After the Lizard attacks him, Spider-Man pursues him into the sewers and discovers that several other people have also been transformed into Lizards, as the villain's plot is to unleash these Lizards on the city. While Spider-Man defeats the Lizard and thwarts his plans, he escapes further into the sewers. Upon returning to the city, Peter Parker is attacked by the New Goblin, who defeats him and leaves him unconscious before taking him to a hospital to recover. Elsewhere, escaped convict Flint Marko accidentally falls into a sand-filled cockpit while scientists are conducting experiments there, transforming into the supervillain Sandman .


The next day, Spider-Man continues his battle against the H-Bombers, aided by Detective Jean DeWolfe, who helps him investigate some crooked police officers. Upon learning the bomber's pilot is businessman Luke Carlyle, Spider-Man thwarts his latest attack on the Daily Bugle and rescues J.Jonah Jameson and destroys the bomber helicopter in the process, although Carlyle escapes. At the same time, Spider-Man investigates the connection between Scorpion and the Sciecne MechaBioCon company , He discovers that the head scientist is Dr. Stillwell , who has placed Scorpion under mind control and transformed him into a living weapon for various tasks. Spider-Man eventually frees Scorpion from Stillwell's control with the help of Dr. Andrews, who has developed feelings for Scorpion and wants his safety. Upon returning home, Spider-Man is approached by a Symbiote (a type of imaginary creature found in the black Spider-Man suit), which encases his body, resulting in a new black suit that enhances his powers. After discovering the Sandman robbing a bank, Spider-Man pursues him through the subway and battles him, before being influenced by a Symbiote that nearly kills the Sandman by shooting him with a large amount of water.


The next day, Eddie Brock humiliates Peter Parker as Spider-Man and gets promoted after they both get the same mission, prompting him to seek revenge on both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. He also finds the Lizard again and restores him to his human form, despite Kraven and Calypso attempting to chase the Lizard down and then transforming him into a giant lizard. After Spider-Man once again thwarted the gangs he was facing, Kingpin attempted to unite them against Spider-Man, who thwarted his plan after a battle that resulted in Kingpin's apparent death. Later, after Peter Parker became violent during a date with Mary Jane, she broke up with him. Realizing that the black suit was increasing his aggression, Spider-Man retreated to a nearby church and removed the Symbiote using the sonic vibrations of a bell. Afterwards, Spider-Man reconciles with Mary Jane , while Sandman is reunited with his daughter, who has been rescued by the police. He apologizes to Spider-Man and leaves peacefully. The game ends with Peter Parker resuming his never-ending fight against crime, with the notion that the only way to honor and remember those he loves is to never give up being Spider-Man. Therefore, the game's story loosely follows the story of Spider-Man 3 with the addition of some new missions. As for the gameplay, it remains acceptable.
