Story:
On April 26, 1986, a tragic disaster occurred. Reactor Unit 4 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant malfunctioned, leading to an explosion and radiation contamination of a vast area.
In early February 1987—nine months after the disaster—a team of scientists from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology received signals confirming the presence of people working in a previously evacuated area. Unexplained discrepancies were also discovered.
It turned out the signals came from the SWAN Institute, located near the city of Pripyat. Its name comes from the acronym for Syndrome Without a Name—the term given to a group of symptoms that do not occur in any known, documented disease. The facility was conducting research into previously unseen and disturbing neuropsychiatric conditions.Minimum
