Patron builds on the foundations laid by the pillars of the city-building survival genre and enhances the experience with a large quest tree and the introduction of complex social dynamics into the game and the genre as a whole. Patron starts out similarly to other games in the genre, but then deviates to explore the social details and what it really means to run a community, not just a city full of robots.
Each individual citizen in the town has their own needs, desires, and issues that either bother or make them happy. Some citizens are more concerned about immigration, while others are more concerned about tax-related issues. If a citizen's perspective on the matter aligns with what the town government (you, the player) is doing, they'll be happy. And vice versa.Minimum
