Each Godfall brought with it a ferocious meteor shower, as well as untimely demise for their worshippers. As gods continued to fall, wreaking havoc on entire kingdoms due to the sympathetic deaths of believers, many cast off their faith in hopes of being taken captive. Without divine protection, great numbers fell to tyranny and corruption as daemonic forces forced their entrance into the world.
Now, there is but one God. Its priests hold sway over the remnants of humanity, ruling with an iron fist. Nomadic Green tribes plunder and burn their way across the land. Ambitious Necromancers gather the bones of fallen civilizations to raise armies of the dead on a massive scale. Human heretics seek a way out to break this world, endangering themselves in the process. The dwarves of the Earth Nations dig deeper than ever, trying to escape the madness of the surface world. Horrors await there in the depths, ready to rush in and claim ancient places. Meanwhile, evil forces they have yet to see lurk in the shadows, laying their plans.
