Your sole mission as a tunnel rat during the Vietnam War was to hunt down the enemy lurking below. But that was years ago. You've left that life behind; it was hard, it took its toll, and overall, you're content.
Yet, for some reason, this night feels different and, in a way, almost familiar. As you watch football, it begins to eat away at you and conjure up the age-old question you were uniquely positioned to answer. In your experience, sometimes the monsters are real.
