May 16, 1886 There will be many stories concerning the events that took place in 1886, or as most people called it, the Autumn of Death. They have all been dismissed as mere hallucinations, drunken babbling, or some stage of illness. I know better. I was there. That night, the dead rose from their graves, demons slinked about in the Grand Museum, and even mummies walked among the living. Everyone saw a skeletal knight defeat all the terrible monsters. I spoke to him. I even helped him in his quest to destroy Lord Balithorne of Shoreditch. It is all true. Every word of it! Below is what I was able to discover about our Knight in Quiet Bones. Read carefully and mark my words. I found an ancient legend about a great knight, whose name is now known to me as Sir Daniel Fortesque, beginning around the 13th century. He was a great warrior from the land of Gallowmere, which is now also a legend. He was killed in battle against the mad wizard, Zarok. Sadly, Sir Dan's death was in vain. Zarok lived and soon came into possession of a book of black magic.
Several years passed before Zarok finally managed to undo the spell he had been searching for. It is written that using this book of dark magic, Zarok awoke the dead to use them for an army. He was delighted and mad with power, so mad that he never realized the spell worked so well. As legend has it, Ser Dane rose from his eternal slumber and took up the task he had died trying to complete. After defeating all the wandering servants of the damned and the dead, he finally came face to face with Zarok. It was an epic battle of power and magic, but in the end, Ser Dane completed the knightly quest he had begun so many years before. With Zarok dead, Ser Dane hid the magic book and returned to his eternal rest.
Now, some 500 years later, I have witnessed Ser Dane awaken once again. This time it was at the hands of the mad Lord Balithorne of Shoreditch. He was a man from the wrong side of the bars. He had even purchased a title to feel more important. However, the elite of society never truly accepted him. Then he turned to the book of dark magic and cast a spell to raise the dead. He wanted to destroy all of England and become its
sole ruler. At my first sight of Sir Dane, I felt sick. One-eyed, skinless, he was horrifying and a bit angry. I felt bad for Sir Dane, but I was so excited about having him on my side. As an old man, I wasn't fit enough to fight. My expertise was in the sciences and I knew a little about magic.
Once it was all over, I said goodbye to Sir Dane. I prayed I never had to see him again in my lifetime. I prayed my ancestors never had to see him in their lifetimes. I knew they would deny all of it. I could only pray that whoever found this believed me. I don't know where Sir Dane put the cursed book, and it's probably for the best. I just hope his evil is gone forever. Believe in monsters; maybe one day they will save us all.

In Sony's Medieval II, playing again as Sir Dane. This time, instead of facing a mad wizard from your own time, you must face the modern world, the modern 19th century. Using all the weapons at your disposal, you must aid Professor Hamilton as he tries to figure out how to repair the damage Lord Balithorne has caused.
Along the way, you'll meet a helpful ghost named Winston. He's been raised by the Good Professor and will offer you advice from time to time. You must also collect treasure, keys, and books to aid in your quest. You'll need to purchase certain items and ammunition, as well as read information about the enemy.
There are, of course, traditional medieval weapons like the sword, hammer, and axe, as well as various sizes of shields. There's also one modern weapon, the Gatling gun. In addition to the weapons you find, make sure you defeat all your enemies and obtain the Chalice of Souls. Returning this chalice to the Professor will be very useful to Sir Dan.
You can also do things that only the dead can do. Like place your head on some creepy, wandering hands that move around the Grand Museum. Why would you want to do that? To do some reconnaissance and enter those hard-to-reach places, of course. Without revealing too much, your head will be placed on another body by the Good Professor so you can have a "combat" chance against a certain enemy.
