Koya Rift's gameplay is very simple - you find yourself above ground standing in front of one of the delivery pods from the mercenary mothership. Your minimap hides the underground area - and you have no idea what awaits you. The terrain of each level is procedurally generated (meaning it uses advanced algorithms to make itself different each time, offering almost endless possibilities). Underground lies a network of tunnels and caves that change every time you play. It's impossible to know what awaits you behind every corner. Procedural generation isn't limited to the level - all your enemies will look different too. Their size, speed, color, health, damage, and weapon behavior will be unique to each one you fight. Your special weapons are generated in the same way—the spears you take with you into levels are created from endless possibilities. One gun might fire large energy shots that, with a single shot, slow and weaken all enemies in a large circle, while another fires bursts of multiple bullets that curve in every direction in a undulating motion. Another fires multiple shots at once but can penetrate walls and head towards enemies. Another heals and buffs your allies.
You have to venture into the unfamiliar cave system and remove all the ghost crystals (where enemy soldiers are grown). Unfortunately, the ghosts are always chasing you, while their crystals evolve and grow. If you manage to destroy all the enemy crystals, you win the level. Minimum
