Knights and Merchants Historical Edition recreates the medieval era. Apart from the purely fictional geography of our world, all game elements and settings are based on the Anglo-Saxon period, 1200 AD. We also didn't use fantasy elements such as mythical creatures. The player takes on the role of an ordinary commander of the palace guard. A plot against the king throws the commander into a position that puts him in charge of defending the last royal province. This is all that remains of a ruined kingdom, which was divided into many small principalities and fiefdoms. Now even the king himself, entrenched in his capital, is threatened by enemy armies. This is the starting point of your medieval adventure. Now you must reclaim all those provinces that once belonged to your king.
