Many years ago, the Prince of Griffinville fell in love with a girl and married her despite his father's opposition. Unable to accept a hopeless marriage, the king sent his son on a crusade, and in his absence, banished his young wife from the castle. The king hoped the prince would eventually forget about her, but his plans were dashed when his heir was killed in battle, and the prince's beloved wife gave birth to a child and died in captivity.
