No one could have imagined that the once peaceful world would be irretrievably lost. One day, everything fell apart, transforming the world into a vast pyramid. Different creatures found dwellings on different "layers," each layer depending on its height or depth. Without physical passages connecting these layers, we can only travel using massive "portals."
The surviving humans live in the lowest and poorest areas of this new world. They call it the "Tower of Shards" and hope to one day reach the top of the world, free from an unjust fate.
