Freelance Trucker: Insurance Fraud Edition puts the player behind the wheel of a commercial semi -
truck, controlling the finances of the shipper. Navigate dangerous roads on unique delivery jobs, with a variety of cargo types depending on the job. Safe and timely deliveries will earn you a respectable salary, but these payments reduce returns, and more lucrative jobs require more expensive insurance categories. If your delivery ends in disaster, you are eligible to file an insurance claim, provided you are insured. Players can use insurance payments to unlock progressively more dangerous delivery jobs, higher salaries, and better insurance plans.
Developed in Unity 3D by Blue Banana Productions, this is a vehicle accident simulator that will test your driving skills. It also includes a "money management system" where players can monitor damages, purchase insurance, and use insurance to convert damages into cash. Players must make careful decisions about when and how to "perform insurance fraud" by sabotaging deliveries; it's essential for career advancement, but too much destruction early on isn't sustainable. Players are given five save slots for parallel truck career tracks, all of which can be overwritten if players want to start new career tracks in previously used slots.
Vehicle physics are based on the Eddy's Vehicle Physics Unity 3D asset pack, but have been modified to allow players to perform aerobatics, "hydraulic jumps," custom vehicle destruction, trailer detachment, and a "lock" move similar to drifting. Environments are partially destructible, and most unique assets were created using Blender. Text and art assets were created in Paint Dot Net, and audio assets were created using Audacity. Inputs are managed by InControl, and support for PS4 and Xbox One controllers, as well as a keyboard and mouse, is supported. Support for next-generation controllers (PS5 and Xbox Series X) has yet to be determined, as these systems were only recently released. A controller is recommended, as button mapping is more intuitive and driving may be easier, but a controller is not required.
