You and two fellow runaway slaves, upon escaping Roman territory, come across a recently plundered farm. Although everything of value has been taken, a small amount of wheat, some tools, and a couple of silver denarii might allow you to live in obscurity on the fringes of Roman territory. Sadly, you agree to run the farm together just as a Roman registrar knocks on the door of the small house.
A little terrified of being discovered, you can't convince the Roman that you are anything other than runaway slaves. However, this particular registrar is "flexible" and offers the runaways a deal: if they manage the farm and produce enough wheat to meet Rome's quota, and bribe him, they can continue to run the farm instead of being sent back to face their master. With no other options, and no way out, you and your comrades quickly agree. Minimum
