Information:
Fracture takes players to the year 2161, where environmental disasters and earthquakes have radically altered the landscape of planet Earth, and the clash of ideologies has pushed society to the brink of war. Players enter the battlefield as Mason Briggs, an explosives expert fighting for the Atlantic Alliance. Facing genetically enhanced Pacific Army soldiers, they will experience a revolution in 22nd-century warfare. By utilizing Fracture's core mechanic—a destructive technology known as terrain distortion—players are equipped with an arsenal of futuristic weapons to strategically reshape their surroundings in real time. Every action they take dynamically reshapes the terrain in ways never before seen in a video game. When Briggs drops a tectonic bomb on a flat battlefield, the ground explodes upwards to provide access to an otherwise inaccessible area. When he encounters a seemingly impenetrable structure, Briggs uses the alternate firing function on his rocket launcher to create massive craters to dig under the wall. Surrounded by enemies on all sides, Briggs throws a vortex bomb, creating a whirling, tornado-like mass of rock, dirt, and debris to destroy his enemies. These are just a few examples of the terrain-distorting possibilities. Players don't just change the battlefield—they change the face of battle itself.
