"FATAL FRAME: Maiden of Black Water" comes to PlayStation 5 for the first time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the horror-adventure series FATAL FRAME. [Story] Hikami Peak was once considered a spiritual place. It housed a unique religion based on beliefs and customs that worshipped water as a god, and is said to have been the site of many horrific incidents and mysterious phenomena. This mysterious and interwoven story follows three protagonists—Yuri Kozukata, Mio Hinasaki, and Rin Hojo—as they each explore the ominous Hikami Peak, a place where many have come to die, and the secrets it holds. [Gameplay] Players use the Camera Obscura, a special camera capable of banishing vengeful ghosts and sealing their powers, to explore Hikami Peak and the many incidents that occurred there in the past. The story is divided into separate missions, each led by a new protagonist. In addition to shutting out the evil spirits that attack you, the Obscura Camera can be used to detect other things that cannot be seen by the human eye and will help recover lost items. [New Items] - Improved screen resolution - New costumes and accessories - New photo mode where you can freely pose characters and spirits to capture creative shots - Updated ghost roster - Control updates, and more.
