In the Farich Mountains, clans of brutal warriors eked out a harsh life in the harsh northern climate, constantly feuding with one another and plundering the wealthier border towns. Tired of these constant attacks, the border clans appealed for aid to the Empire—a powerful ruler who controlled the land from the Scarlet Mountains to the Vale of Cynehelm and Horwood. The Western Imperial Banner was sent to confront the mountain raiders, and with the help of the border clans Isil and Macnaar, High King Brendan was slain at the Battle of Dragon Pass.
A treaty was signed forbidding any clan from incursions into the borderlands in exchange for peace. Since then, there has been no High King to unite the clans, and they have fallen into feuding and plunder amongst themselves. In these dark times, your clan has been led by Valer One-Eye, a warrior of great repute.
