Description:
The game takes place in the near future - a favorite place not only of game creators, but also of film directors and science fiction writers. A small detachment of military personnel is sent to Antarctica (or rather, to a secret base), where something strange happens, although it may seem trivial. Then, as often happens, the plane carrying the main character, Dennis Riley, crashes, and the entire crew has to urgently evacuate.
Since then, they have all been scattered throughout the base, and Dennis is no exception. After that, we have to engage in such a mundane activity as saving the world and finding the culprits. By the way, the plot in "Extermination" is very good and has such a parameter as cinematic quality. And if Metal Gear Solid 2 could be called an "A"-grade movie, then Extervation is more like a "B"-grade sci-fi action movie. In general, the scriptwriters' work here was done at a solid "good" level.
The
main feature of the game is that, in addition to the standard health meter, Extermation also has a so-called infection meter. The fact is that a certain virus is operating on the territory of the base, and our hero will repeatedly become infected as it progresses. Your goal in such moments is to quickly find a vaccine, otherwise the game will end. This makes the game even more interesting and intense. I was very pleased with the convenient control system, which is much better than what we have seen in all the Resident Evil series over the years. This is where all the advantages of the game end and are replaced by disadvantages. The first thing that catches your eye is the inconvenient operation of the camera, which for some reason often chooses the worst possible positions. Then comes the short duration of the game and the almost complete lack of replayability. After spending a maximum of 10 hours upon completion, you're unlikely to want to play the game again. But the first time is guaranteed to be interesting. Let's say a few words about the graphics: everything is done at a decent average level. Sure, it doesn't quite reach the level of MGS2's Annihilation, but it doesn't look like an "ugly duckling."
