Many years have passed since the darkness of Damien's armies was repelled and Damien was banished to another world by the human demigod hero, the Divine. As humans enjoy their first years of true peace, Damien succeeds in breaking his chains and returns to the world of Revelon to seek revenge on those who imprisoned him. To do so, Damien takes control of the minds of the rarest and most powerful beings in the world: the Dragon Riders, whom he unleashes upon the world. One of them is the one who kills the Divine. With the dragons now on the side of evil, many young men and women of Revelon have taken on the role of slaying these dragons—they are known as Dragon Hunters.
In Divinity 2 – Ego Draconis, players find themselves once again in Revelon, a timeless world filled with wonder and magic, shattered and terrified by the cataclysmic wars of the past. No one knows why so many people had to sacrifice their lives. All seems to be over, but peace is deceptive, for the demon has returned and terror is once again marching on.
Players begin as Dragon Hunters, hunters traveling the countryside determined to rid their lands of dragons. As the story of Divinity 2 — Ego Draconis unfolds, the player will discover new abilities and potential as they evolve into a legendary dragon lord. Additionally, the player character's abilities can be continuously upgraded throughout the game and specialize in certain areas. The world of Divinity 2 — Ego Draconis is populated by humans and fantasy creatures, each possessing unique combat abilities.
