Follow Captain Aelfred and Captain Shakar as they are banished from their home kingdom and attempt to find peace in a world that seems to be at war. Get help from an unexpected place—a transient father and daughter, Heber and Nyomi, who hold a secret they have sworn never to reveal. Meet and recruit the duelist Celeste, the daughter of one of the richest men in Chiron. You navigate in need of help from a monk named Gal, who hates Aelfred for his role in destroying his homeland. There are nine main characters in total—each with unique personalities, motivations, and story arcs. Each character also offers different strategic toolsets to overcome your seemingly insurmountable enemies.
The combat system in Divided Reigns has been redesigned from the ground up to make every fight fun, challenging, and feel fresh. Different weapons give the person wielding them different attack types. Does the enemy have a solid shield? Then spring attacks probably won't work well, but flanking or low attacks might! Did you just discover that an enemy is weak to ranged attacks? Swap your greatsword for a bowgun during battle to maximize your attacks. Use enemy art to try to guess which of the eight different attack types will work best. Find those weaknesses and exploit them!
