This is a third-person espionage action game that describes the activities of SMERSH, the most mysterious secret service agency in World War II. "Moment of Truth" is a sequel to the popular espionage action title "Death to Spies." The main character of the game is Semyon Strogov, a captain in the fourth department of the Soviet counterintelligence service called SMERSH (Russian acronym meaning "Death to Spies"). The hero possesses the skills necessary to complete dangerous missions that include gathering information about the location of enemy military and civilian units and assassinating enemy agents, including high-ranking Wehrmacht officers.
