Combat Mission Cold War takes place
during the turning point years of a conflict that captivated the world for 45 years. Between 1979 and 1982, both NATO and the Soviet Warsaw Pact began to shift away from the industrial warfare of the early 20th century and toward the modern, digital battlefield we inhabit today. Combat Mission Cold War simulates numerous fictional "what if" scenarios between American and Soviet forces centered around the strategic gap at Fulda and its surroundings in western Germany.
The game also simulates the early days of the U.S. National Training Center (NTC), where American forces began to rapidly shift away from Vietnam War doctrine and toward revolutionary air-to-land combat concepts that would define modern warfare.Minimum
