You play as Private Investigator Lon Carter—but be prepared to find yourself in the shoes of the Mad Arab Abdel-Ilah El-Hadary, author of the terrifying Necronomicon, as well as in the shoes of H.B. Private Investigator Lon Carter regains consciousness to find himself lying on a beach near Innsmouth. His body has been torn apart. He tries to pull his last cigarette from the pack, but his arm fails to obey. As he fades into death, horror growing in his eyes, he recalls with terrifying flashes his fatal encounter with the Shoggoth...
There comes an interminable period of darkness.
Then, something from the fire burning inside him awakens him, and he returns, completely healthy and unharmed—but he will never be the same. Haunted by horrific visions, nightmares that hint at unspeakable and terrifying truths, he needs to return home, to understand what happened to him—but escaping Innsmouth will only be the first step on his journey. In his hometown of Arkham, a mystery awaits him. A disappearance. A ritual murder. A conspiracy that connects different characters, different places, even different eras. An adventure that will test your wits and drag you to the limits of your sanity... and perhaps beyond.
Mountains of Madness is a new adventure game in the Chronicle of Innsmouth series. These events take place 10 years before the first chapter of this saga and will influence future events. Travel to ancient Yemen and play the role of the mad Arab Abd al-Ilah al-Hadari, author of the Necronomicon, and retrace the steps of H. B.
