Hyper Speed GranDoll is an OVA anime from Central Park Media about a high school girl who discovers she is actually part of a royal lineage of aliens from a distant planet. On October 14, 2006, Central Park Media announced that it would cease production. Synopsis
: Hikaru always thought she was just a normal high school girl... well, as normal as a teenager with a genius mad scientist father. She spends time with her best friends, daydreams about the boy she likes, and watches her favorite superhero show. One day, a past she knows nothing about comes back to haunt her. She is shocked to learn that she is the last living member of the royal lineage from a distant planet. What's more, she discovers that she has been protecting the ultimate shield and that it could determine the fate of the entire galaxy. Chou-Kousoku Grandoll (also known as Hyper Speed Grandoll) is a bright and refreshing platformer based on the anime series, and the license is put to good use with some fun cutscenes between levels. A reassuring 2D feel with good old-fashioned gameplay where you pick up keycards and swing on a climbing line across challenging terrain. The female protagonist can also enhance her mecha suit after each completed level, granting her new powers that she needs to use to progress. The game's plot closely follows that of the OVA, except for a few minor differences. Unlike the anime, where Hikaru fights only in her standard armor, in the game you get different styles of armor upgrades after defeating a boss, similar to the Bio Metal system in Megaman ZX. Manufacturer's Description: An action game about becoming a glittering high school heroine, the heroine transforms into the "Grand Doll" of Justice. In order to obtain the "royal" glitter armor, the story will ward off an alien invasion of Earth. Stages progress, and the special abilities that can be used increase. Animations are included between stages to further enhance the story.
