“From the snow-capped peaks of Njördiack to the wide-spreading lands of Ha-Dys, this land once so full of promise was now in the grip of Chaos. Released from Deepholm by the murderous god Methem, Chaos spread through the world like a disease, devouring the souls of the Silmerie peoples.
In a final burst of courage, the armies of five kingdoms joined forces and descended upon the ruins of Branilv in the heart of Ymar. Here the world of men had cleaved apart, freeing Chaos from its prison in darkness. But the brave warriors faced a foe too powerful, unfazed by steel and fire. When the last of them finally died, King Meldorian realized the world was entering times so dark that even the light itself would be forgotten. Enclosed in the white stone fortress overlooking Rhianon, the proud city of Silme, he reflected on his kingdom one last time before Chaos cast its shadow over it. Minimum
