Dead 13 is a mobile adventure game that uses the same gameplay as Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. You play as Lance, a computer repair technician who has been summoned to the castle of Dr. Nero Neurosis, a talking brain living in a vat of goo. There, you are hunted by cartoonish villains—mainly Fritz, the half-human, half-animal servant who carries tons of weapons in his coat and suffers a lot of physical harm. This is a point-and-click game where you must constantly interact to get out of danger or you will be killed in comically violent fashion. The showdown is on... Fritz, Dr. Neurosis's half-human, half-animal master, is tasked with eliminating you. The frantic adventure races through the evil playground of the mad doctor's twisted castle. Fight Moose, Vivi the vampire, the evil Iris sisters, and other mishaps of science until you reach the brain room where only the most cunning will win! Featuring coordinated digital voice acting and stunning interactive animation, Brain Dead 13 will blow your mind! It is up to the player to use the intricate movements of an interactive movie to escape the castle. This animated adventure relies primarily on the player's judgment about which direction they think the character might go, and if the player guesses wrong, death.
Plot: Lance, a young computer expert, is called in to fix a computer in a creepy, dilapidated castle. After fixing a supercomputer, Lance learns that his client, the split brain of Dr. Nero Neurosis, has a diabolical plan to take over the world. He quickly finds himself in trouble, chased through the castle by Dr. Neurosis's mad servant Fritz. The player must guide Lance through the castle in order to defeat Dr. Neurosis and escape with his life.
Characters: - Lance Galahad is a young computer expert and the human player character. He has long red hair and a baseball cap. He is a video game addict and also possesses some intelligence. Voiced by Ricardo Durante.
- Dr. Nero Neurosis is a mad doctor, now a split brain, whose evil goal is to rule the world. He takes revenge on Lance by sending Fritz to kill him at the beginning of the game, due to Lance insulting him when he thought he was "normal" (though he was planning to kill Lance from the start to avoid paying for his repairs). Voiced by Dave Quinnell.
Fritz is a hunched-backed dwarf with hooks for hands, carrying an array of his own deadly tools, which he uses to kill Lance. His lack of a clear mind doesn't prevent him from being a deadly antagonist. Lance is stalked by him throughout the game. He is Dr. Neurosis's "pet" and follows all orders given to him to the letter. Voiced by Joe Giampapa, though Fritz doesn't speak any languages at all, only grunts and gibberish.
Vivi is a seductive, vampire woman with a Southern accent who runs a "funeral parlor." It's generally an excuse for her to cannibalize or suck the blood of unwary or unwilling customers, such as Lance. Voiced by June Brown.
Moose is a big, dumb giant, resembling Frankenstein's monster, who spouts various sports catchphrases and wields a baseball bat and a football. He is encountered as one of seven "bosses" in the game. Voiced by Blaine Burnside.
