Information:
The Marines commandeer an abandoned transport bus for evacuation. En route, they deduce that the alien air units are drones targeting human radio transmissions. Santos reveals that their mission is to locate the aliens' command and control center, destroying which should disable the drones. When their bus is attacked on an elevated highway, the Marines bring the group down to street level. In the ensuing firefight, Marines Stavro, Mottola, and the rest of the National Guard are killed, while Joe and Lieutenant Martinez are wounded fighting the aliens. Martinez uses his radio to attract the aliens, then detonates the explosives, sacrificing himself. Now, Nantz is the remaining commander, with Santos, Imlay, Kearns, Lockett, Harris, Adoko, and the civilians continuing their escape from the bombardment zone. A news report interviews a scientist who speculates that the aliens are seeking Earth's water for fuel while wiping out the human population.
