Passive Co-op Multiplayer
As you wander the vast open world of Ashen, you will encounter other players from time to time, just as you did in your passive multiplayer journey. Only you can decide how to act—fight evil together, invite them into your party, or pass by silently.
Like Souls, but with a twist.
Ashen uses a stamina-based combat system (similar to Dark Souls) and offers players wide-open spaces in a harsh but engaging world. However, there's also a peculiarity: the ever-changing gameplay. Whether it's uncharted swamps, unexplored fjords, or hunting for prey in an ancient manor—the course of events can change dramatically at any moment depending on where you are. This is a brutal open world, and you only live here.
Creatures and Combat.
There's no shortage of dangerous encounters in Ashen, from cunning enemies to local evil creatures. Exploring the world around you and its inhabitants, and thinking through your adventure plan in advance, is much more profitable than simply acting randomly. The flora and fauna of this world is not only fascinating, but often deadly. Any skirmish, even the most mundane, can lead to unpleasant consequences.
How important it is to master the craft!
When you meet survivors, you can invite them to your city. These aren't just wanderers, but potential helpers with a wide range of craft skills—from blacksmithing to foraging.

Acclaimed fantasy writer Marc Lawrence (of the Broken Empire trilogy) and the renowned Foreign Fields team worked closely with the development team at Aurora44 to create a captivating and unusual story with a unique musical accompaniment.
