: It's 1966, and the Southern African Border War has begun, with the deployment
of the South African Defence Force (SADF) in Southwest Africa. As a SADF commander, you wage a counterinsurgency war to secure the region bordering Angola.
To win the "hearts and minds" of the local population, you'll need to track down and destroy SWAPO rebels who are infiltrating across the border and destabilizing the region by intimidating the local population, planting mines, and attacking your troops.
The rebels also have a larger sibling, the Allied Angolan Army (FAPLA). This Soviet-supplied conventional army has much broader ambitions than SWAPO, seeking complete control of the entire region as a first step toward unifying Angola under communist rule.
FAPLA provides a secure base from which SWAPO can operate, but its primary focus is destroying UNITA, the US- and South African-backed faction.Minimum
