Information:
Find love, fame, and excitement at the all-female city opera! Perform, transcend the drama on and off stage... and win your girlfriend's heart.
The Player's Heart is a 222,000-word interactive romance novel by Melissa Scott. It's entirely text-based, with no graphics or sound effects, and relies on the vast, unbridled power of your imagination.
You are a rising member of the All-Female Opera Company, one of three major theater companies in the gleaming estuary city of Tristendisande. But Tristendisande's legal ruler is a three-year-old boy, and his mother, the guardian, is under increasing pressure from the Castagi Ambassador to curb the city's notorious freedoms, the theaters among them. The opera's leaders are determined to remain neutral, but the dissolute and disrespectful Electric Theater—where men and women perform on the same stage, in the same productions—is determined to nullify the Ambassador's influence. And in the Theater Garden, love and politics are always intertwined.
