Blur is an arcade racing video game released in May 2010 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It was developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Activision in North America and Europe. The game features a racing style that fuses real-world cars and locations with arcade-style handling and vehicular combat. Blur was the penultimate game developed by Bizarre Creations before it was shut down by Activision on February 18, 2011.
In Blur's career mode, the player will encounter numerous characters and numerous licensed cars ranging from Dodge Vipers to Lotus Exiges to Ford Transit and F1-powered pickup trucks, all featuring full damage modeling and separate attributes such as Acceleration, Speed, Drift, Grip and Stability.
The game can be played with up to four players in split screen, and the game can be taken online for a maximum of 20 players online, or over LAN in the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. Players can send a racing challenge to a friend online. If the second player beats the time, they can submit the updated challenge again. These challenges go back and forth until one person delivers. Players can also use the Share button and post their achievements on Twitter and Facebook.
The game was generally well received by critics, with a Metacritic score of 82/100 on Xbox 360 and 81/100 on PlayStation 3 and PC.
