Successfully crowdfunded, Xeno Crisis offers a version of the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis game, an arena shooter that can be played solo or in local co-op. Take control of battle-trained soldiers embarking on a deadly mission to confront an alien threat and return home safely! Run and gun your way through thousands of opponents as you explore a destroyed research outpost, search for survivors, and ultimately confront the cause of the outpost's demise.
Outpost 88 is divided into seven distinct zones, each randomly generated with each round, meaning your strategy must evolve on the fly if you want to succeed in your mission. Collect special dog tags from defeated enemies to upgrade your equipment between zones and search for special weapons that will give you a temporary advantage.
There are several weapons you can use, each with their own unique properties. While the standard pulse rifle you're issued is perfectly capable of taking on the enemy, other weapons can give you advantages in certain situations, so it's generally wise to pick them up—just don't run out of ammo!
As you progress through the settlement, you'll encounter many different enemies, each with their own characteristics and means of attack. Many can be shot without much thought, but others will require the player to skirt around, attack within a certain time window, or avoid them altogether!
At the end of each area, you'll have the opportunity to trade any dog tags you've collected for upgrades ranging from extra health to weapon power-ups to extra lives. The upgrades you choose will depend on your playstyle. Minimum
