Um Jammer Lammy, the sequel to the #1 PlayStation music game PaRappa the Rapper, is more than just a new collection of songs. This interactive game focuses on a brand new character and features different musical styles, multiple musical competitions, and an electric guitar for performing instead of rapping. You take on the role of Lammy, the insecure guitarist for Milkcan—one of the biggest garage rock bands in town. Like PaRappa, the more you play, the more the story begins to unfold. Over time, Lammy will gradually gain confidence and improve his skills in the rock, punk, heavy metal, and pop rock genres. The idea is to impress your teachers in each stage by keeping up with the rhythm. If you're successful, Lammy will be awarded Effecters—items used to add an extra touch to your guitar playing. When you earn them, you'll be able to use some wah-wah effects, as well as distortion and vocal bends—using them correctly will help your overall rating in each stage (based on PaRappa's system of awesome, good, bad, and terrible) . Um Jammer Lammy allows you to challenge a friend to a head-to-head guitar competition, as well as save and watch your own games in Replay mode. For those wondering, PaRappa makes a guest appearance, but whether you can find him depends on your skill... so grab your guitar and get practicing! Um Jammer Lammy is in the same vein as PaRappa the Rapper and includes six "lessons" with a new teacher for each. These teachers include the returning Chop Chop Master Onion, fire chief Chief Puddle, pilot Captain Fussenpepper, farmer Paul Chuck, nanny Cathy Pillar, and pop star Teriyaki Yoko. As you progress in Um Jammer Lammy, players earn new effects and other electronic additions to their guitars to produce more complex music, including acoustic bends, distortion, and reverb. The co-op mode allows players to play cooperatively with Rammy, who can be played by a second player or the computer. The same goes for the Competitive Play mode, but instead this mode allows players to challenge Ramy to a "Vs" battle. Options also include the ability to save replays, use the Dual Shock controller to indicate when it's your turn, options to choose two difficulties, save options, language and subtitle selection, as well as a high score display. In the US, Hell has been replaced with a desert island, and the FMV segments surrounding the level have been edited. This doesn't really affect the game much, as much of the game doesn't make sense at first. Also, the song played during the credits in the Japanese version has lyrics in the local version. Manufacturer's Description: There's a new rock star in town. Wherever Lammy goes, the mosh pits follow. She's the guitar star of an all-female band called Milkcan. Help Lammy get to her big show on time by playing rock, heavy metal, punk, pop, and other awesome tunes. You can even face off against another player in an awesome two-player mode. Um Jammer Lammy, yeah... she's awesome. Features: Third-person perspective. 2D graphics, cartoon graphics, musical and fantasy themes.

I love this game!! It's a lot of fun, in my opinion. I had a lot of trouble playing this game with previous PSX to PS4 methods, but now it runs smoothly, and button presses sync perfectly with the music.
